first_imgTottenham chairman Levy demands world record money to sell Kaneby Paul Vegasa month agoSend to a friendShare the loveTottenham chairman Daniel Levy is demanding world record money to sell Harry Kane.He has slapped a £250m price-tag on Kane, says The Telegraph.Spurs’ stuttering start to the season has prompted fears that Kane could look elsewhere next summer. But the Spurs chief is determined to keep hold of the England captain, even if Mauricio Pochettino fails to deliver silverware again this campaign, they report. It would take a world record bid to convince Levy to part with Kane. And it is hoped that such a large figure will deter the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City from making a move. Ohio State Takes Back No. 1 Recruiting Class Ranking From Alabama After 5-Star Commits

first_imgOhio State's 2017 recruiting class.Ohio StateAlabama’s grasp on the No. 1 recruiting class for 2017 lasted for less than a day. Ohio State retook the top spot in the rankings on Friday night, when five-star offensive lineman Wyatt Davis pledged to the Buckeyes, giving Urban Meyer’s program enough points to surge past the Crimson Tide. Nick Saban’s program had been on top for less than 24 hours after getting a commitment from a Florida long-snapper. Here are 247Sports’ team rankings:Ohio State’s 2017 class is shaping up to be one of Urban Meyer’s best ever (and maybe the best ever). The Buckeyes currently have commitments from 14 players, three of whom are five-stars and 10 of whom are four-stars. There’s still a long way to go with the ’17 recruiting cycle, but it’s tough to imagine OSU not holding on to the No. 1 overall recruiting ranking. You can view the Buckeyes’ full 2017 recruiting class here.last_img read more

Pochettino is confident in coping without Harry Kane

first_imgAhead of Tottenham’s first Premier League match without Harry Kane, manager Pochettino trusts that the squad can cope without their best player.Tottenham Hotspur received the worst possible news they could’ve gotten this season, striker Harry Kane fell injured with a sprained ankle and he will be out for at least one and a half months but manager Pochettino is doing his best to cope with the situation. The upcoming month will be the most challenging, we’ve already written about the players who could replace the English striker but we are also very aware that replacing Harry Kane is frankly impossible. The Argentine manager is aware that there is nobody in his squad who can do the same work that the England captain can provide, which is why his strategy will consist on using what he has in order to get the best possible results in all the competitions that Tottenham Hotspur will play. The manager is fully aware of the challenges that his squad faces without their best player, but that won’t stop them from trying to remain competitive despite the adversities that will present themselves during this time.We also have to remember that Tottenham won’t have South Korean forward Son Heung Min for the next month, given that he is currently representing his country in the Asian Cup.Tottenham boss Pochettino reveals how he will deal with Kane’s absence #THFC | @mirrordarren— Mirror Football (@MirrorFootball) January 18, 2019This Friday during a press conference ahead of Tottenham’s London Derby at Fulham, the Argentine manager described the challenges that Kane’s injury pose and also used the best example to illustrate what the squad might go through during this difficult process.“We have players that can cope when Harry Kane is not available,” said Mauricio via The Mirror.“If we want to find a player similar to him I think we are going to make a mistake, because to find another Harry Kane is impossible — we are talking about the one of the best three, four, five best strikers in the world.”“We have the possibility to create our new star through the academy. You know different names. I don’t want to mention [individuals] as that might not help [them], but of course that is our objective — to try to create the new star of Tottenham, to find him here in our academy, would be the most exciting thing.”“I was watching Barcelona, and the striker was Leo Messi. You can play Llorente, you can play Dele Alli, you can play Lamela, you can play Kaziah Sterling, Troy Parrett, I don’t know… you can play many, many players.”“It’s not that you have to play with one specific striker,” he added.Harry Maguire, Manchester UnitedLiverpool legend Nicol slams Harry Maguire’s Man United form Andrew Smyth – September 14, 2019 Steve Nicol believes Harry Maguire has made some “horrendous mistakes” recently, and has failed to find his best form since joining Manchester United.”The market is very difficult.”Mauricio Pochettino has commented on whether Tottenham will replace the injured Harry Kane.👉— BBC Sport (@BBCSport) January 18, 2019The next couple of months will be crucial for Tottenham Hotspur’s season, as they will have to face a set of various matches in three different competitions that will decide the outcome of their season. Not having Harry Kane in any of these tournaments may be enough reason for manager Pochettino to request new players, but given the state of the club’s finances, going after new transfer during the winter window might not be a possibility. As things stand right now, Spurs are currently 9 points below Liverpool in the Premier League, they are one victory away from reaching the Carabao Cup final, and they are soon to face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League round of 16.If one is optimistic about the English squad’s odds, one could say that they are still title contenders in all fronts but an upcoming couple of months won’t be easy at all.Mauricio Pochettino is more than ready to confront this new challenge, he won’t shy away from it because it’s not in his nature as the natural born competitor that he is.Spurs might not come out on top after this, but they will sure as hell do their best effort to achieve it.#thfc striker Harry Kane has only missed nine @PremierLeague games since his first start under Maurico Pochettino in November 2014.— Hotspur Related (@HotspurRelated) January 17, 2019How do you think Tottenham Hotspur will do in the upcoming months without Harry Kane?
