BATON ROUGE – The LSU Tigers dominated throughout and cruised to a 71-47 win over the College of Charleston on Monday night at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.The win was the sixth straight for LSU as the Tigers improved to 9-2. LSU has not lost in six home games this season.The Tigers didn’t start star Jarell Martin, but it didn’t matter. LSU jumped out to a 35-14 halftime lead.While Martin didn’t start, he came off the bench to be the leading scorer for the Tigers. He scored 18 points.The Tigers also got a big night from Jordan Mickey. He had 15 points, 10 rebounds and six blocked shots, including three in one sequence.Guard Keith Hornsby added 11 for the Tigers, who shot 47.8 percent from the field.The College of Charleston, meanwhile, struggled to get anything going offensively. LSU limited the College of Charleston to just 28.1 percent shooting from the field.Anthony Stitt led the College of Charleston with 13 points. Canyon Berry had 11 and Donovan Gilmore had 10 for the losers.LSU did a lot of its damage inside. The Tigers enjoyed a 30-24 points in the paint advantage. LSU also outrebounded Charleston 43-34 and had 13 second-chance points to seven for Charleston.The Tigers were so dominant there were no ties or lead changes in the game.LSU will be off for a week before returning to play in the PMAC against Southern Miss on Dec. 29. That game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
